Brittney Griner Request for House Arrest Denied

Yesterday the Moscow court granted a two month extension for Brittney Griner's arrest after prosecutors asked for more time to investigate her case [click here if you missed that].

Brittney's request to serve her detention in house arrest has also been denied...

A Moscow-area court denied WNBA star Brittney Griner's request to be released on house arrest Thursday - with the judge ultimately deciding to extend her detention in a Russian prison until May 19, reports said.
Griner's lawyers have described her as being well, however they noted she clearly wants to return home as soon as possible, a source close to the situation told the network.
'The court granted the request of the investigation and extended the period of detention of the US citizen Griner until May 19,' the court said. The Russian investigation remains ongoing, and a trial date has not been set.
