He is being charged and it's not lie.
According to reports Columbus Short has been officially charged with two misdemeanors, one for domestic violence and one for child endangerment. The endangerment charge is because a child was present during the incident.
Columbus was arrested at his home in the San Fernando Valley earlier this month after police were called and he and his wife both accused each other of assault [click here if you missed that].
