Last week openly gay rapper Lil Nas X set off a firestorm after releasing a pair of 'Satan Shoes' to promote his new single 'Montero [Call Me By Your Name]' along with a video where he rides a stripper pole to hell and gives the devil a lap dance before snapping his neck and stealing his horns [click here if you missed that].
All that controversy worked in his favor...
This week 'Montero [Call Me By Your Name]' debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
This is Nas's second No.1 song, his first 'Old Town Road' held the No.1 spot for a whopping 19 weeks.
Lil Nas also released a less demonic version of the Montero video this week.
