Satan Shoe Sells Out in Under a Minute - Nike Files Trademark Infringement Lawsuit

This week openly gay rapper Lil Nas X ignited a firestorm after collabing with MSCHF streetwear to release a pair of customized Nike "Satan Shoes" that featured a pentagram pendant, an inverted cross and a single drop of human blood in the soles to coincide with the release of the video for his new single 'Montero [Call Me By Your Name]' where he rides a stripper pole to hell and twerks on the devil before snapping his neck and stealing his horns [click here if you missed that]. 

Welp, the shoes sold out in less than a minute and Nike has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against MSCHF...

According to reports just hours after the limited edition shoe sold out on Monday Nike filed a lawsuit for trademark infringement and dilution, false designation of origin and unfair competition in New York Federal court.

Nike also released a statement asserting that the shoes were customized without their approval or authorization and that they are in no way connected to the project.

The shoes, which retailed for $1,018.00 are currently being resold for more than twice that amount online. 

The price is a refernce to the Bible passage Luke 10:18, that reads "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven." Luke 10:18 is also emblazoned across the side of the shoe.
