RIP Ms Tyson! You lived a long beautiful life. May The Most High rest your soul
OH NO!! I remember her in Miss.Jane Pittman
Rest Well beautiful ICON. You did well here.
January isn't even over and 2021 already shaping up to be just as trash as the year before.
RIP Ms. Tyson. And thank you.
She was fly in her 90s. Loved her for so many reasons. Lucky to have had her in our lifetime.
Were losing everybody, sadly though, there's no one to pass the baton to!
You fought the good fight, your work here on earth is done. It's time for you to take your much deserved rest.
96 years of elegant consistancy..take notes ladies. RIP Miss Tyson.
Damn I had to surf the web to see if it was true. I am so sorry to hear that! We were just talking about Cicley Tyson about 2 days ago how old she was and how good she looked for her age! She will be missed RIP and condolences to the family. She is one of the greatest actresses that walked this earth!
Goodbye Queen!
American Masters on PBS just did a tribute to the old school Black actresses. Her and Pam grier were the only ones featured that were still alive when it aired last week. So glad for positive contribution to the culture. Rest easy
This is tearing me apart... Cicely had that sophistication, elegance and Grace in which we all don't consume in today's society. We have had the best pleasure in of knowing her in our lifetime. Now we have this ignorance, narcissistic with evil wicked and false prophets. R.I.P. Cicely Tyson
@9:33PM I saw that documentary too! It's a history lesson for all to check out. There are so many more that could've been on the program, i.e. Vonetta McGee, Rosalind Cash, Tamara Dobson, Ruby Dee....the list of wonderful Black actresses can go on and on!!
@10:15. Agreed. Before she retired from acting, I met vonetta and she was a true class act. There's a lot of underrated talent out there that the younger generation should know about. Hopefully the Grio channel won't go the way of Bounce and continue airing these old(er) movies.
This beautiful and talented woman is so an ancestor.
It hurts losing our great elders. So sad that this generation doesn't respect their elders. I'm so glad my parents raised me to have honor the elders that mean well. I'm not looking forward to growing old with Generation Z(ombie).
Here’s a link to hear a recent interview of Ms. Tyson who’s memoir, JUST AS I AM, was released shortly before her passing. She discusses acting, her parent, the importance of her roles, and Miles Davis.

True Icon! R.I.P Queen
Rest in Heavenly Peace Queen.
Another great one passes on. I saw thet PBS documentary as well and was moved by all those beautiful queens on screen. Ms Tyson was like no other. She was always very intentional about the roles she chose and for that alone she deserves all of out respect.
The meaning of class. A true legend!
Definitely one of a kind.
No Black actress today can't touch her
She was one of the pioneers of BLM. When you look the words: Icon, Legendary, and Queen in Webster's Dictionary her picture should be there.
