One month ago, he performed at the CMA Awards. pic.twitter.com/SS1OWIA7gw
It's really hard not to wonder if Charley Pride would still be alive if he hadn't sung at the CMA's last month.

Earlier this year the CMA's held an INDOOR event during a Pandemic pushing a "No drama, just music" theme. They refused to acknowledge legends like John Prine as well as others who passed due to Covid-19 complications. And now we've lost Charley Pride as well. Fuck the CMA's.

We all knew it was incredibly reckless to have a CMA @CountryMusic Association Awards show this year. I feared so dreadfully this might happen. Alas, it appears to have cost us the first black member of the @countrymusichof.@TasteOfCountry https://t.co/6wMPyLHb1f
