Earlier this month Donald Trump announced his first campaign rally since March would be held in Tulsa, OK [click here if you missed that].
Did Tulsa just expose Trump's dwindling base...?
Sure looks like it.
Donald Trump was scheduled to speak at an outside rally, before the main event, to an overflow crowd that never materialized, and adding insult to injury only 6,000 people showed up in a venue that held 19,200.
The Trump campaign blamed K Pop stans and a TikTok video challenge urging people to reserve tickets with no intention of showing up for their huge overestimation in crowd size. They were expecting 1 million people or more.
Whole sections of the Tulsa stadium are almost entirely empty. Trump due to speak in an hour. The campaign claimed there were more than 1 million ticket requests. Then why is a stadium that holds 19,000 not full?? pic.twitter.com/JhJn3MyMI8— Ben Riley-Smith (@benrileysmith) June 20, 2020
This is what overflow looks like at the Trump rally in Tulsa right now. Pence is scheduled to speak out here in about 10 minutes. People still streaming in but not nearly the number the campaign said they were expecting. pic.twitter.com/hbypfviOxv— Abby D. Phillip (@abbydphillip) June 20, 2020
