Bratz and LOL Surprise dolls founder, Isaac Larian, apologizes and deletes his Twitter account for going off on a racist rant after being accused of stealing from a Black creative...
It all started when Instagram influencer Amina Mucciolo accused Bratz Dolls of creating a doll in her likeness after working with them.
That's when the CEO of the company lashed out telling Muccilo she was a disgrace to Black people and the Black Lives Matter movement.
He later apologized and deactivated his Twitter account.
Meanwhile Amina continues to apply pressure on Instagram.

***UPDATE*** Hi Friends, I made a post calling out L.O.L Surprise’s apparent misappropriation of my likeness on 6/7/20. Today I am here to report that the post was removed by @Instagram. #lolsurprise went around social media filing BS copyright claims regarding the photos I used for the doll to try to silence me, when what I did obviously falls under fair use. But that’s OK I have my own doll, and I took a picture myself π€¬. I’m sharing this again, because I refuse to be silenced by them or anyone else! Since our original post, MGA Ent (their parent company) made a very aggressive attempt to contact us, and then within the hour (before we had a chance to respond) began spreading lies about me and my motivation in bringing this issue to light. Given that they’ve shown us no reason to trust them, I decided that it would be a bad idea to engage them without a lawyer. We are currently in the process of hiring one now. If you would like to know how to help or support us, hit the link in my bio. PLEASE SHARE THIS STORY **ORIGINAL POST** (This is an entirely separate incident from the Lisa Frank situation.) L.O.L. Surprise created a doll based on my entire image and identity without my permission. And I haven’t received any acknowledgment or compensation from them in any way. In fact, they are straight up ignoring me. Here are the facts; 1) I wore my hair like this and shared the photos on social media from Nov 2018 to Feb 2019. 2) In April 2019 LOL surprise reached out to me and hired me to be a guest on their YouTube channel for a kids interior design show. 3) Then in July of 2019 they released the Rainbow Raver” doll as a part of their “Hair Goals” collection and it looks exactly like me. 4) I found out about this because I started to receive messages asking me if I knew about the doll, and its striking resemblance to me and my unique hair and outfits. But this isn't the first time Mucciolo has had her ideas stolen by companies she partnered with.
I believe I’m being evicted because of the Lisa Frank hotel. Our landlord refused to accept our rent payment, and wanted us out no later than October. We thought it was strange that he was so specific about the time frame, but we fought it. And then, sure enough, in the beginning of October, we learned that the LF apartment was in our rental development, owned by the same people trying to evict us. Then we saw that it looks suspiciously similar to our own home, Cloudland, that I designed and shared in 2017. I don’t know if LF and Hotels.com know what is happening. But I know that the similarities to my place aren’t just in my head because others have seen them too. They are so similar that many people thought I was responsible for the design of the place. I am in no way saying it’s a room for room remake but the “inspiration” is extremely obvious, and the kitchen is a complete ripoff. I was just going to sell my clothes and try to raise money to move, but when this hotel launched and so many of you have reached out noting the similarities I felt like I couldn’t just stay quiet and let this happen to me. I started to feel like they wanted to erase me and my work. This has been really hard, I’ve been sick and waking up every day in terror. And I almost didn’t do it because I was afraid of taking on a billionaire LA developer and these major brands who have inexhaustible resources, while I can’t even afford to move. And I especially hate the idea of using my platform to put anything else besides positivity in this world. But I owe it to myself to fight and I owe it to you to be honest. I’m asking for your help because I’m scared and I don’t know where else to turn. A lot of you were concerned about where I’ve been and why I haven’t posted and why I’m selling all my clothes. And I owe it to you to be honest and tell you that I’m not OK. But I’m also not going to let this happen to my family without doing whatever I can to stop it. But I hope you take away from this that it’s ok to be scared. If you feel like you’re being suffocated and you’re hiding in the shadows, remember this and know that bullies thrive on your silence. link in bio to help ππΎπ
