The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are suing three British tabloids after a private letter the Duchess sent her father is printed in the media...
Prince Harry has joined a class action lawsuit against The Sun and The Mirror after his wife Meghan Markle filed a lawsuit against The Sunday Mail for printing a private letter she wrote her father after he skipped her royal wedding.
Meghan's father insists the only reason he released the letter is because Meghan's friends misrepresented the letter's contents in People Magazine, claiming it was a healing and conciliatory note when it was actually cold, unfeeling and sounded to him like a final farewell.
In his argument Prince Harry compares Meghan's treatment by the media to the treatment of his mother Princess Diana.
Harry writes,
“There comes a point when the only thing to do is to stand up to this behaviour, because it destroys people and destroys lives. Put simply, it is bullying, which scares and silences people. We all know this isn’t acceptable, at any level. We won’t and can’t believe in a world where there is no accountability for this.
“Though this action may not be the safe one, it is the right one … I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditised to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person.
“I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”
