Mayor Lightfoot tells MSNBC,
“I believe that everybody is entitled to a presumption of innocence. But I saw — as I’m sure you and your listeners saw — a very compelling case, with video tapes, witness statement and other information that looked like he had staged a hoax, and if that happened he’s got to be held accountable.”Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx dropped the case against Jussie Smollett after he agreed to forfeit his $10,000 bond and complete 16 hours of community service after he was accused of staging a hate crime for publicity [click here if you missed that].
