The author of the infamous 'Becky with the good hair' lyric clears up any connection to Jay Z's alleged mistress Rachel Roy...
On the night of the Lemonade visual album premier on HBO Jay Z's rumored mistress Rachel Roy inserted herself into the narrative by referring to herself as having 'good hair' just hours after the song Sorry hit the airways containing the lyric, "He only wants me when I'm not there/He betta call Becky with the good hair [click here if you missed that].'
Diana Gordon, who co-wrote Sorry with Beyonce for the Lemonade album, expresses her shock at the backlash that ensued.
'I was like, "What day in age from that lyric do you get all of this information? Is it really telling you all that much, accusing people?"'
'I don't think she expected it."
'I saw her at her Formation tour. She had a pyjama party; we laughed, we danced, we hugged it out. But I didn't say much about it at the time because I wanted to give her space."
'The idea started in my mind but it's not mine anymore. It was very funny and amusing to me to watch it spread over the world."source
