In Search of Voodoo: Roots to Heaven explores the origins of Voodoo in Benin West Africa, how it spread overseas through the slave trade and why perceptions of Voodoo became negative.
Co-director, African journalist Sorious Samura, explains,
"The practices here are not bad and they aren't savage... That concept dates back to slavery. That is why we need to clarify what defines voodoo."
