Last week there were rumors that Beyonce was up against Orange is the New Black star Uzo Aduba for the role of Glenda the Good Witch in The Wiz Live! on NBC [click here if you missed that].
Uzo walks away with the prize…
It was announced today that Uzo Aduba would play Glenda the Good Witch with Amber Riley cast as Addaperle, the Good Witch of the North.
Uzo and Amber join Queen Latifah as the Wiz, Mary J. Blige as Evilene, David Alan Grier as the Cowardly Lion, Stephanie Mills as Auntie Em and introducing Shanice Williams as Dorothy.
The Wiz Live! aires on NBC December 3rd.
