Earlier this month Cash Money CEO Bryan 'Birdman' Williams was named in an indictment, along with rapper Young Thug, alleging he conspired to kill Lil Wayne over their ongoing contract dispute [click here if you missed that].
Sources close to Birdman insist its not true…
Back in May Lil Wayne's tour bus was shot up after an appearance at club Compound in Atlanta and the shooter was quickly identified as Young Thug's tour manager Jimmy Winfrey [click here if you missed that].
According to the indictment Birdman received a phone call from someone inside Lil Wayne's camp immediately following the shooting.
Sources close to Birdman tell TMZ the phone call was actually someone calling to tell Birdman about Winfrey being kicked out of the club for harassing Lil Wayne that night and that Birdman had nothing at all to do with the shooting.
Despite their ongoing dispute the source claims Birdman has vowed to get to the bottom of it.
