50 Cent Motion for Mistrial Denied
A judge has denied rapper 50 Cent's request to have his defamation of character lawsuit declared a mistrial because of all the media attention…
According to reports 50 Cent's attorneys pleaded with the judge this week asking that his case be declared a mistrial claiming jurors could have been influenced by media attention on the case.
The judge denied the request telling 50's lawyers most of the media attention could be directly traced back to their client.
50 was ordered to pay Rick Ross' baby mama $5 million in compensatory damages for posting her amateur sex tape online. Jurors also voted to impose punitive damages but before the punitive phase of the trial could begin 50 filed for bankruptcy.
The judge later ruled his filing would have no bearing on the case.
