Earlier this week performance artist Marina Abramović blasted rapper Jay Z in Spike Magazine claiming she would NEVER work with him again because he completely used her and never financially supported her art institute as promised [click here if you missed that].
Marina apologizes after Mr. Carter produces his receipts...
After the interview went wildly viral the director for Jay Z's Picasso Baby video called into artnet News and read the receipt number for a five figure donation and a thank you note from the institute.
Hours later The Marina Abramović Institute released this statement:
"Marina Abramovic was not informed of Shawn 'JAY Z' Carter’s donation from two years ago when she recently did an interview with Spike Magazine in Brazil. We are sincerely sorry to both Marina Abramovic and Shawn “Jay Z” Carter for this, and since then we have taken to appropriate actions to reconcile this matter."
