Michael Jace was formally charged with 1 count of murder yesterday after preliminary autopsy results determined his wife, 40-year-old April Jace, died of multiple gun-shot wounds. Her death was ruled a homicide.
Bail was set at $2 million.
Michael Jace called 911 on Monday night and told the operator, "I shot my wife." The couple's two children were home at the time.
Michael and April married in 2003 one year after Michael divorced his first wife with whom he has a teenage son.
Michael and April had come under considerable financial strain in recent years, having defaulted on their mortgage and filing for bankruptcy listing $80k annual income and $500k in debt.
