12 Years a Slave picked up a total of 9 nominations including Best Picture, Best Actor for Chiwetel Ejiofor, Best Supporting Actress for Lupita N'Yongo and Best Director for Steve McQueen but its who didn't get nominated that has people talking.
There were no nominations for Idris Elba or the Mandela Film in which he starred, no nods for Oprah Winfrey or Forest Whitaker for The Butler, which was also snubbed as a film, and Michael B. Jordan was passed over as was Fruitvale Station.
