Two years ago Jay Z and Kanye West were sued by Chicago Blues man Syl Johnson for sampling his music for Watch the Throne without permission or compensation [click here if you missed that].
Now Jay is being sued by a 60s funk artist for the exact same reason.
Eddie Bo and his record label TuffAmerica are suing Jay Z, Roc-A-Fella Records and Atlantic Recordings for sampling his 1969 single 'Hook & Sling' for Jay Z's 2009 mega-hit 'Run This Town ft Rihanna and Kanye West.'
Eddie Bo and TuffAmerica are seeking unspecified damages and asking that all further distribution of the 'Run This Town' be stopped.
