During a press conference at the White House today Obama Press Secretary Jay Carney was forced to refute the lyrics to Jay Z's new song, 'Open Letter' where Jay claims he had clearance from the White House to visit Cuba...
During the press conference a reporter read aloud the lyrics, "I done turned Havana into Atlanta. Boy from the hood, but got White House clearance. Obama said "chill you gon' get me impeached. You don't need this shit anyway. Chill with me on the beach," and asked if the President really cleared Jay Z and Beyonce's trip to Havana.
Press Secretary Jay Carney shut down the rumors immediately replying,
"Treasury offers and gives licenses for travel as you know and the White House has nothing to do with it."Pressed further Carney added,
"I am absolutely saying that the White House from the President on down, had nothing to do with anybody’s travel to Cuba. That is something the Treasury handles."
