The annual dinner held for media, political pundits and celebrities is traditionally lighthearted and punctuated with jokes.
During his monologue President Obama brought up Jay Z and Beyonce's infamous Cuba trip by saying, "I have 99 problems and now Jay Z is one of them."
The joke plays off Jay Z's remake of Ice T's 1993 track '99 Problems [But a Bitch A One]'.
