Last week Pamela Smith filed a paternity suit against Michael Jordan, claiming he fathered her son back in 1997 [click here if you missed that], but insiders claim it was her son who made her do it.
Sources tell TMZ that Pamela and Michael always had a good relationship and that she doesn't need the money and never intended to call him out, but her son is desperate to be publicly acknowledged by his father.
The sources claim Michael has visited the boy over the years and even given him gifts but it was always done in secret.
A court date is scheduled for March 12.
