Last night Black grandmothers everywhere clutched their pearls when BeBe Winans sang at the Republican National Convention in Florida.
But BeBe, who sang for free, says his presence is not necessarily an endorsement...
In an interview following his set, when asked, "Why are you here?" BeBe responded,
“When they ask that question I ask the question why not be here? Why not be part of the process? When asked and given the invitation to come sing I said yes because we ask our officials to be bi-partisan and I think it’s important if we ask of that, we ought to show that. So my being here is all about letting people know we are all Americans first before any association with any party. “
