There's been a bit of controversy bubbling on the underground over an Odd Future lyric where Tyler the Creator implies that MC Lyte is a lesbian...
In the OF song 'Rella' Tyler spits, “Let’s get it poppin’ like MC Lyte around some dykes.”
All Hip Hop caught up with MC Lyte and asked what she thought about the line and Lyte responding calling the lyric irresponsible and insulting.
But Tyler don't care, though. He totally blew it off telling one radio station,
“I don’t know if she’s gay or not. It was a joke. But if she took offense, so be it…I’m not gonna apologize, but I didn’t mean for her feelings to get hurt. Usually people in that position, you’d think they would laugh it off and go on with their day. But I guess she caught feelings. I didn’t mean to do that, but whatever.”
