Back in 2001 Brandy began quietly dating music producer Robert Smith. When Brandy became pregnant a year later, she lied and said she and Robert had been secretly married.
Brandy and Robert separated shortly after Brandy gave birth to their daughter and in 2004 Robert exposed Brandy's lie in the press revealing they'd never been married at all.
Brandy explains why she lied,
"It was all about setting this perfect image. The lie about being married was the fall of my career."
