William Balfour Ordered to Remain In Jail
William Balfour, the man accused of murdering Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and seven-year-old nephew, has been ordered to remain in jail after his lawyers unsuccessfully argued that his arrest was unjust...
Lawyers for William Balfour argued in court on Tuesday, Feburary 14, that William should be released from jail immediately because there had been no probable cause to arrest him and that evidence against him had been obtained without a warrant.
William Balfour was arrested on December 1, 2008, more than a month after the murders, and was eventually linked to the crime by threats he'd made in the weeks prior to the incident and gun powder reside taken from his steering wheel.
The motion to release William was dismissed and he will remain in custody until his next court date on February 23.
