Kelly Rowland’s estranged father wept with joy as he told how she plans to visit him at Christmas... the first time they will have met for 23 years.
Christopher Lovett told the Sunday Mirror earlier this year that he hadn’t seen X Factor judge Kelly since she was seven when his relationship with Kelly’s mother ended over his alcohol abuse and vicious temper.
Now Kelly has told a US magazine that she is setting up a reunion with him next week.
Speaking from his home in Atlanta, Lovett said: “This is the best Christmas present any father could dream of.
“When I spoke to the Sunday Mirror I hoped she’d read it and know how I felt.
“Now it seems she has and might be ready to forgive me.”
