The Young and The Jobless

Rumors from the soap opera realm say Darius McCrary got let go...

Best known as Eddie Winslow from 'Family Matters' or as Superhead's faux ex-husband, Darius McCrary took over the role of Malcolm Winters on The Young & the Restless after Shemar Moore left the show in 2009.

Fans weren't crazy about the recast at first and Darius later defended his casting by pointing out,
There were a lot of roles in between Eddie Winslow and Malcolm Winters. I had a chance to play Muhammad Ali, I had a chance to do Next Day Air, I had a chance to be a vampire with Jon Bon Jovi -- I mean, the list goes on and on and on. So there was a lot of preparation for me to be able to stand in the ranks alongside some of the greats like Kristoff St. John (Neil), Doug Davidson (Paul) and Peter Bergman (Jack). It's really a blessing, and I consider it an honor every time that I get to walk onto that stage and I'm a part of something that is such a legacy, and something that is truly greater than me."

Now, Darius along with Tristan Rogers (Colin Atkinson) and Eden Riegel (Heather Stevens) have been let go.

Drarius is currently working on a solo album and his most recent feature film, '35 and Ticking' starring Kevin Hart, Meagan Good and Tamala Jones is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
