Sean Kingston sat down with Sway from MTV to explain the extent of his injuries from the jet ski crash [click here if you missed that] .
Sean tells Sway that after spending 10 days in the hospital recovering from a shattered wrist, a broken jaw and water on his lungs, he was given the all clear to go home but then he began to have shocking pains in his left chest...
Turns out Sean had a ripped aorta in his heart valve and his chest had been filling up with blood for several days. Sean was told he would have to have open heart surgery. After his aorta was repaired he had to undergo a second open heart surgery for a different issue. Sean says the doctor told him only 20% of patients survive open heart surgery.
