While Jay-Z and Kanye West put up a united front at the VMAs, tension between Jay and Lil Wayne was palpable after both apparently dissed each other on their respective new albums. Spies at the VMAs noted that the two hip-hop titans never spoke to each other and were separated by security guards during the awards show. They also noted that Jay left right after wife Beyoncé’s performance, while West stayed to see Wayne’s performance.
