In a one sentence statement released to the press Janet says simply,
"Because of the trial, the timing of this tribute to our brother would be too difficult for me."
Beyonce, Cee Lo, Ne-Yo, Smokey Robinson and Christina Aguilera have all agreed to perform.
Janet joins her brothers Randy and Jermaine in opposition to the timing of the October 8th tribute.
