Rapper Waka Focka Flame escaped injury yesterday after a shoot out at car stereo dealer in East Charlotte ...
From the Charlotte Observer
Rapper Waka Flocka Flame and three other men were being questioned at police headquarters late Wednesday after a shootout at an east Charlotte car stereo store.
Police said Waka Flocka Flame, 24, whose given name is Juaquin Malphurs, was at the Car Stereo Warehouse to have the sound system on his tour bus upgraded.
Around 4 p.m., he was talking with fans and having his picture taken outside the store, witnesses said.
Two vehicles – an older model white Land Rover and a later model Dodge, possibly a Charger – pulled into the parking lot, said Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Spokesman Rob Tufano. The men in the car exchanged gunfire with people in the rapper’s party, according to police.
One person was shot in the shoulder. Police have not identified that person, but said it wasn’t the rapper. The injured man was taken to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
No one has been charged.
