Oprah paid up and shut it down.
From the National Enquirer
Days after The ENQUIRER exclusively published details of a federal lawsuit that exposed shocking secrets about OPRAH WINFREY, the talk-show queen settled the case out of court.
The bombshell suit claimed Oprah passed out on prescription drugs on her private jet, her best friend Gayle King slept with a male flight attendant on the jet, and the billionaire media mogul went on racist rants.
It was filed by flight attendant Corrine Gehrls, who claimed she was wrongfully fired from working on Oprah's plane and sought more than $75,000 in damages from Oprah's production company.
As The ENQUIRER previously reported, Gehrls said she'd been sacked for "inappropriate intimate behavior" with the jet's chief pilot in June 2009.
..
The former employee
also alleged Gayle slept in a double bed with male flight attendant Myron Gooch on a 2008 flight.
According to legal documents related to the case filed with the U.S. District Court in Chicago on Oct. 5: "Parties agree to the terms of settlement. Stipulation of Dismissal to be filed with the District Court."
Gehrls' attorney Andrew Staes confirmed the settlement to The ENQUIRER, but refused to disclose details.
Oprah's lawyer Chip Babcock told The ENQUIRER that he would not comment on the settlement.
But a close source said: "Oprah clearly did not want any more of her dirty laundry exposed as part of this nasty lawsuit.
"She wanted it to go away - and that's exactly what happened!"
