Former NY Giant Plaxico Burress is currently serving 2 years in an upstate New york prison for shooting himself in the leg in a crowded bar back in 2008 [click here if you missed that].
Plax has been locked up since last September and has been angling for work release ever since he got there. His second request just got shot down.
"The serious and negative impact illegal guns have on the community coupled with (the) dangerous nature of the weapon discharging in a public place renders him unsuitable for work release,"was the reason given by the state Department of Correctional Services.
Plaxico, who's serving his time in protective custody, can't reapply for work release again until June 6, 2011, the day he's scheduled to be released.
