A screenwriter filed suit claiming Lottery Ticket is a rip off of his idea.
Tom Huang says he wrote a treatment about winning the lottery in 2004 and handed it to his agent Brad Kaplan. Tommy believes Brad gave the treatment to one of his other clients, Erik White, who went on to write and direct The Lottery Ticket, opening next Friday.
Tom says Erik's Lottery Ticket lifts significant plot elements, characters, and scenes from his treatment. He is asking for unspecified damages.
