Naomi Campbell Hauled into Court

No. Not for kicking someone's ass. It's because she wouldn't walk a flight of stairs.

Naomi Campbell is being sued for breach of contract by her business partners, Moodform Mission and Premier Model Management, for repeatedly backing out on her promotional duties and stiffing them on profits. Moodform and Premier, who developed and market Naomi's fragances, claim Naomi is making millions off her scents but stopped paying their 25% in 2009 without explanation and once backed out on a live air appearance at the last minute, refusing to walk two flights of stairs, after the elevator broke down.

Chris Owen, Premier's co-director, told how Streatham-born Campbell, 40, was always late for meetings and made promotional tours 'very difficult, very stressful and often very unpleasant'.

She would personally abuse him, it is claimed. On a trip to Budapest she allegedly tried to attack him with a bottle and had to be restrained by her body guard.

Mr Owen said Campbell backed out of the appearance on a televised awards show in Australia with cosmetics manufacturers Wella, which made her perfume, when she discovered she would have to walk up two flights of steps.

'Her failure to show was not only embarrassing, but caused friction with the Wella people in Australia,' he said of the event, which allegedly happened in 2000.

Campbell is said to have reneged on a deal to pay Moodform and Premier 25 per cent of the profits from her fragrances, which include 'Cat Deluxe' and 'Cat Deluxe with Kisses'.

The supermodel is 'making millions and millions' on the scents and between 2001 and 2008 made quarterly payments of the profits.

Last year the money stopped coming and when asked why, Moodform bosses were told by the perfume manufacturers: 'Talk to Naomi', it is claimed.
