A few weeks ago rumors circulated that Magic Johnson was interested in buying financially troubled Ebony and Jet magazines. Too bad they couldn't agree on a price. Magic walked away from the deal and released this statement:
"Recently, an affiliate of Magic Johnson Enterprises and Johnson Publishing Company were in advanced discussions to do business together, but unfortunately we were unable to reach a definitive agreement."
