i never got to see him perform live. i remember waiting for his history album to drop because it came out on my 15th birthday. i called around to all of the record stores because i was scared it would sell out. i was pissed that no one else appreciated what a great album it was. whenever i felt bad, i would listen to his song "smile." i watched moonwalker daily when i was a kid. my parents taped motown 25 on the vcr and i used to watch his part over and over. i loved the pepsi commercial he did with alfonso ribero. this isn't real.

As a black latino I grew up in Costa Rica and couldn't find much around that looked like me to look upon as a role model and there came Michael with his fro and all, and I was completely mesmerized by the way he united people through his ability to sing and dance and became a number 0ne fan. His gentil deameanor made me feel that I always wanted to protect him from the barracudas of the world. My favorite song is "Sweet little thing" among others. Well...I've been watching t.v. reports for the better part of the afternoon and I'm still in shock: the denial and utter disbelief I feel at Michael's passing is equal only to what I felt upon learning of Aaliyah's and Gerald's deaths. It's...just so hard to wrap one's mind around. I remember being in love with him when I was in 6th grade...I even had a picture of him dressed in yellow and white circa 1983[ladies...you know which one I'm talkin' about!lol] that I carried in my wallet...I thought he was so sexy and next to Prince, he has always been one of my all-time favorite male singers/entertainers. Regardless of how much his death is affecting people all over the country/world, I'm sure all of his troubles will most assuredely be drudged through the mud courtesy of the media and I'm disgusted at the fact that ET had the audacity to show a pic of him on the stretcher being wheeled into the hospital. I refuse to let the sensationalism upset me, though, and instead will focus on the man and the music. Michael was [and ALWAYS will be] a LEGENDARY ICON who definitely left his mark and there will NEVER be another one like him.

Although I was not a Michael Jackson fan, I would be lying if I said there werent a few songs of his that became my grooves. I remember the Prince/MJ wars I used to have in school with my peers all in fun. I would keep a side eye out for him just to see what he would do next. He was the King of Pop and I must admit, I am saddened by this news. We have definately experienced a huge loss in the music world. There will never be another in this generation.

No disrespect to Michael, but I don't think he's really dead. He could very well have faked his death with all the legal and financial problems surrounding him, and now suddenly he's dead? i never got to see him perform live. i remember waiting for his history album to drop because it came out on my 15th birthday. i called around to all of the record stores because i was scared it would sell out. i was pissed that no one else appreciated what a great album it was. whenever i felt bad, i would listen to his song "smile." i watched moonwalker daily when i was a kid. my parents taped motown 25 on the vcr and i used to watch his part over and over. i loved the pepsi commercial he did with alfonso ribero. this isn't real.

As a black latino I grew up in Costa Rica and couldn't find much around that looked like me to look upon as a role model and there came Michael with his fro and all, and I was completely mesmerized by the way he united people through his ability to sing and dance and became a number 0ne fan. His gentil deameanor made me feel that I always wanted to protect him from the barracudas of the world. My favorite song is "Sweet little thing" among others. Well...I've been watching t.v. reports for the better part of the afternoon and I'm still in shock: the denial and utter disbelief I feel at Michael's passing is equal only to what I felt upon learning of Aaliyah's and Gerald's deaths. It's...just so hard to wrap one's mind around. I remember being in love with him when I was in 6th grade...I even had a picture of him dressed in yellow and white circa 1983[ladies...you know which one I'm talkin' about!lol] that I carried in my wallet...I thought he was so sexy and next to Prince, he has always been one of my all-time favorite male singers/entertainers. Regardless of how much his death is affecting people all over the country/world, I'm sure all of his troubles will most assuredely be drudged through the mud courtesy of the media and I'm disgusted at the fact that ET had the audacity to show a pic of him on the stretcher being wheeled into the hospital. I refuse to let the sensationalism upset me, though, and instead will focus on the man and the music. Michael was [and ALWAYS will be] a LEGENDARY ICON who definitely left his mark and there will NEVER be another one like him.

Unfortunately, yes...ET showed a close up pic of Michael laid out on the gotdamn stretcher, which had to have been taken as soon as he arrived at the hospital. I was so annoyed that I left the room and didn't even finish watching their so-called 'coverage' of his death and after this day, I will NEVER tune in to ET again. I have no comprehension as to why they would honestly think that people would want to see that, but please believe, if it had been Farrah's or some other yt, they would have shown a helluva lot more respect. smmfh

Michael Jackson was phenominal! I know that he has some contraversial issues, how would we be if we grew up calling our fathers by their first names JOE!!! He never had a real childhood. Poor Michael. This man had more talent then most artists in the entire world.
He brought innovation to music and videos. No one could ever accomplish what has. He was simply incredible. New things aren't exciting anymore because Michael opened the door to unheard of creativity! No one will ever compare. Michael you will be sooooooooooooo sorely missed. I love you and I hope the good Lord finds a place in his heaven for you.

Today nomatter what negative people say, yesterday we have lost a legion and he was NEVER convicted for any child molestation charges and in my eyes the LAW over-rules when people say that he was guilty. I don't believe it, rest in peace MJ(finally).
I was about 8yrs old on the second tier of the Omni Arena in Atlanta,Ga looking down on a stage that was going accommodate Gladys Knight and the Pips and James Brown, and a lady name Moms Mabley had already amused and confused me, see I was only 8yrs old and just the fact that she had no teeth and dressed like she was on the way to put the grits on for breakfast, in front of all those people talking crazy, was enough for this 8yr old little girl to think Moms was the funniest lady in the world. Now, here comes the amazing part, 5 young boys from Gary Indiana, Jackie,Tito,Jermaine,Marlon and the boy that every group of girls argued about whose boyfriend he was and I quote; Ump you go with Marlon, No I go wit Michael, well Ump I go wit Jermaine then, and you go wit Tito...etc. get the picture, well I was getting ready to see my didn't know he was my boyfriend in person, MICHAEL JACKSON of the Jackson 5ive, whoaaaaa, can you hear the young girls in every shade of chocolate screaming their lungs out :), see yt folks didn't want to be bothered with us so much back then so we had the Jackson's, not for long, mostly to ourselves, but soon enough what was to become one of the greatest, funkiest, showmen that ever danced & entertained on planet earth would go global and give to charities from Africa to America and the rest is history, R.I.P., to the definition of why real music that will never die, TIMELESS, MJ
I was so shocked because he was just one of those people that seemed like he would out live all of us. To his children and his family my deepest and heartfelt condolences. And can I just say that PYT is forever and always my sh**..lol.

@antisocial that picture disgusted me as well. I couldn't believe MSNBC aired it. They didn't shoot it and Keith Olberman asked the ET reporter how they got it and she hedged. MSNBC still shouldn't have shown it. It was disrespectful especially since Michael may have already been dead at that point. None of the news outlets here showed those nasty David Carradine photos and they wouldn't dare air a photo of Farrah stiff and blue. I'm angry over that.
P.S. I wish Diane Dimond would shut up. The Jackson family needs to sue her for her defamatory remarks.

Although I was not a Michael Jackson fan, I would be lying if I said there werent a few songs of his that became my grooves. I remember the Prince/MJ wars I used to have in school with my peers all in fun. I would keep a side eye out for him just to see what he would do next. He was the King of Pop and I must admit, I am saddened by this news. We have definately experienced a huge loss in the music world. There will never be another in this generation.

I have to say this. He has been working for the last 45/46 years. Not consecutively, but the man put in hours of dancing, singing, studio time, etc...as I'm told he was a perfectionist. Imagine spending that much of your life working, that hard.
I would like to make sense of it. But all I can hear is Michael singing...

No disrespect to Michael, but I don't think he's really dead. He could very well have faked his death with all the legal and financial problems surrounding him, and now suddenly he's dead? I can't believe it. No, I refuse to believe it. I wanna see the body.
I'm sure I'll get roasted alive for saying this, but these are my honest thoughts on that.

I noticed to alot of celebs die on te 25th of the month i was just telling a co-worker that today! its starting to hit me now that he is gone! I woke up this morning and was thinking "ok today is frday" then I remembered Mike is gone, my soul is grieving on the inside, but no tears have come yet.
I love MJ, I will never forget him. He means so much to me. His music, his spirt.
