I totally agree with you. He stepped outside of his comfort zone with TFTP, but I'm beginning to think that that may have been a fluke and that he is incapable of creating other feature films that have nothing to do with his plays.
This is the one play that I did not like when it was on bootleg only. Weak story, acting, etc.etc. This was MANY yrs. before YT knew about TP.
In her autobiography, Gladys Knight does admit to joining the Mormon church.
CG, you haven't missed out on much. I'd say if a person is somewhat cerebral and had to watch one of his films, my choice would be Family That Preys Together. The storyline is not the best but it has a few surprises that are enjoyable.
