A.I. Out For The Season

One day after Allen Iverson declared he'd rather retire than play off the bench, Detroit Piston president Joe Dumas announced that A.I. was out for the rest of the season. After missing 16 games because of a 'sore back' Allen had this to say, "I'm in a position now that I've never been in my whole life. It's harder than I thought it would be. With the back injury, I have to sit out at the start, then go in, then sit again. It's tough to really get going. I take my hat off to the guys who can come off the bench and be effective. It's tough for me. I'm struggling with it. I'd rather retire before I do this again."

He know he needs to pass that ball, assist to scoring ratio, could have made all the difference for AI, but it hard to teach and old dog new tricks, I dont know to many NBA players over 34/35 that dont come off the bench, you'd definitely have to be MJ or Kobe to pull that off these days the way managers and owners are so flickle with coaches and players.Take the bench man, he and his family have gotten accustom to living at certain level, it wont take long these days especially for Blacks folks(last hired/first fired) to drop down real quick.

this is AI saying f-it i got a real gambling problem and i would rather gamble all day then play for you...thats why his back hurt..sitting in front of them slots all day at Greektown

AI better shut his mouth before he has no choice but to retire.

...can't stand him...he needs to go somewhere and take his raggedy mama with him...

..Joe Dumars brought him in and let Billups go. As a result, Denver's has the best record in their division and Detroit is out of the playoffs.

Dumars too has to be cut aloose..

Lebron/Wade/Stoudamire/Boozer or even Bosh NONE are coming to the "D"....

AI is TIRED mentally, physically, & emotionally.

1) YOU CANNOT F*CKIng Party EVERY WEEKEND & your body withstand practice (wait, he's too good to practice, right?),games, & heavy partying???!! What did his dumbazz think?

2) When a man loses semen, he is depleting 30-40% of his body's stored energy. That's why boxers are not allowed to have sex during training for a fight. AI is a serial ho, a serial semen dispenser. It's no wonder why he is so weak mentally & physically.

3)
This has been a long time coming. AI ( & family) has the worst attitudes; so you get that energy back double. Oh well. Retire already.

Dumars has been very popular in metro Detroit for several years (among other things he comes off as a class act and that seems to really impress the YTs), so I'm predicting Iverson will go before Dumars. Somebody might be trying to cut a deal to dump Iverson now. I could almost see Iverson ending up like Sprewell.

...I totally agree on that Sprewell remark....Iverson was on a one year contract anyway so it doesn't matter...

AI might party hard, but there is no other player that gives his all on the court.

His problem is not that he can't play, his problem is he wants to play all of the time. They want him to come off the bench - he wants to start and stay playing.

He needs to be smart about this. He is not in his prime, and making idle threats about retirement, he might find himself FIRED/RETIRED.

A real nigga's approach will quickly reveal dat Ivo's true injury is HURT FEELINGS. He simply can't deal with bein' reduced to a role player, period. As many injuries as this cat has PLAYED THROUGH during tha course of his career? Tell dat injury shit to somebody else.

And like mah nigga Stimulus said, Dumars is fuckin UP! First you pass on Melo for da Croation Sensation, Darko Milibitch...then you let da heart & soul of ya defense walk to Chicago (Of course, dat move turned out to be just as bad fa Big Ben as well)...then you trade ya floor general, ya fuckin GLUE, to Denver for a nigga known fa sellin' tickets and fuckin' up more offensive flow than any superstar ever to play da gotdamn game. Joe D is not a good look right now and hasn't been for a long time.

I guarantee 2-3 titles over the six Eastern Confr. Championships

Niggas in this thread trippin. It was either Ben or Chauncey, Ben has missed the last 20+ games of this season. You go to 6 straight ECF's and lose the last 3 decisively. Its time for something new. The only thing Chauncey would have guaranteed the Pistons was a top 3 seed and another early exit. It was time to move on. W/ Sheed and A.I comin off the books this summer Dumars will have crazy cap flexibility. He gave away one season for a bright future.

oh, so you sayin' in this economy
have a shitty season this season a REAL shitty season next season then in 2010 when there is maybe only 25% of Detroit still occupied, try to get someone to come play there...Iverson MIGHT be available then...

^^^Did they cancel the free agency period this summer? I musta missed that shit across my bottom line. The "superstar" appeal of this summers crop doesn't match 2010 of course, but there are quality players to be had this summer. The Pistons don't need Wade, LeBron or Bosh. They aren't a team built on living and dying w/ a superstar. They are a TEAM. You can bring in two froncourt players this offseason and change the entire fate of this team. Paul Milsap a proven double double player in the league could fill a HUGE hole for the Pistons.

Stuckey, Rip, Tayshaun, Milsap and an enforcer in the middle would have the Pistons right back in the thick of shit in the East next season. Not to mention players like Will Bynum (25 in the fourth today), Jason Maxiell, Amir Johnson and Affalo who all have bright futures in the league. Get some facts and then holla at me nigga.

Well in the end Big Ben Wallace & Chancey Billups might come out on top with a ring or at least a few good runs in the play-offs, I thought somebody was trying to destroy the Pistons and very quickly, when Big Ben, Chancey were traded and then they put Hamilton on the brench for AI and Stuckey, say what! Well I am female and I saw though this ish, told my step-dad on the Ben trade someone was spread out the tin foil but when they traded Chancey and sat Hamilton on the brench I knew it was a wrap, I honestly though AI was going to come off that brench and humble himself enough to make a few good passes to get those 3pters and elbows to working for detroit. Oh well I hope they saved enough money to hire another 4 players cause I think it's enough ish been thrown in the game to totally break any moral the team might have had. I'm going for the sleeper this year, guess who, not Detroit. lol lol

Don't worry, folks. The Pistons won't get anywhere near a championship trophy this season.
