The Rocawear deal.....This deal has so many levels and layers.
Layer 1:::: Jay Z made the deal in March, so he has 12 months to figure out ways to flip the money and minimize uncle sam hit ( Dumb Dame made his deal in Oct 2005 so IRS took most of it quick).
Layer 2::: Jay Z will continue to receive a salary of over 1.5 million per yr from Iconix plus all the perks :: security, assistants, private plane, trips blah blah
Layer 3:::: Jay z made a 50/50 venture with Iconix for a brand mgmt/licensing company to acquire other brands. U saw Beyonce so happy on 106&Park because she knew about this deal. Jay can get her paid in few yrs if Dereon performs through this venture. Jay Z will reap so much from this venture it is not even funny. Look for G Unit or Sean John to start talking with Jay to be bought ahahahaahhaaha
Layer 4:::: Jay Z still owns the company that actually manufactures Rocawear and other brands with Cher, Bize. He will continue to get paid here.
Layer 5::::: Jay z with Iconix money will start S Carter in 2008 with a potential to blow up again ala Rocawear in few yrs.
Layer 6::::: Jay Z boys & his family and friends who worked in Rocawear will all be absorbed by Iconix ( they will continue to get their salary) This is huge for him.So my friends here is a small pic into what happened in just 1 deal.
NB:: Jay Z took Dame 25% share so he owned more than 50% of Rocawear.
