Jay Z and Timbaland Set to Testify in Big Pimpin' Lawsuit

Back in 2007 Jay Z and Timbaland were slapped with a multimillion lawsuit for sampling Egyptian artist Baligh Hamdy's 1960 composition "Khosara, Khosara" for Jay's 2000 smash hit single Big Pimpin'.

The case is finally headed to trial…

The heirs of Baligh Hamdy are suing Jay Z, Timbaland, EMI, Universal Music, Paramount Pictures (over a Jay Z documentary), MTV (over a Jay Z special) and others for using the sample without proper licensing.

Jay and Timb insist they paid licensing fees after finding out the music was not in public domain but the family disagrees.

Jay Z and Timbaland will both testify in the case set to begin Oct. 13.
