EMI Music is suing Cash Money Records for failing to pay royalties in a sampling dispute...
Back in 2009 EMI Music sued Bryan 'Birdman' Williams' Cash Money Records for sampling their music without permission. Cash Money was ordered to fork over more than half a million dollars in damages and agreed to pay royalties to EMI.
Unfortunately Cash Money stopped making their quarterly payments forcing, EMI to haul Cash Money back into court.
In court documents EMI states,
"It is clear from Defendant's conduct that it has no intention of honoring the Agreement."
